What file format and size should my skin be?

Your skin must be a PNG image with exact dimensions of 256x128 pixels and a maximum file size of 256KB. Other formats like JPEG or GIF are not supported.

How long does the review process take?

Most skin uploads are reviewed within 24–48 hours. You can track the status of your submission on the My Skins page. You'll see a "Pending Review" badge while it's being processed.

Why was my skin rejected?

Skins may be rejected for several reasons: containing offensive or inappropriate content, being a re-upload of someone else's work, being a test or placeholder upload, or not meeting the required file specifications. The specific reason will be shown on your My Skins page.

Can I edit or delete my uploaded skin?

Currently, uploaded skins cannot be edited after submission. If you need to make changes, you'll need to upload a new version. Contact us if you need a skin removed.

What tools can I use to create a Hytale skin?

The recommended tool is Blockbench with the "Hytale Models" plugin installed from its plugin marketplace. You can paint directly on the 3D model and export the texture as a 256x128 PNG file.

Do I need an account to upload skins?

Yes, you need to create a free account and log in to upload skins. This helps us maintain quality and allows you to track your submissions on the My Skins page.

Will my skin appear in the gallery immediately?

No, all uploads go through a moderation review first. Once approved, your skin will appear in the public Skin Gallery and will be available for other players to browse and download.

Can other players download my skin?

Yes, once your skin is approved and published in the gallery, other players can view and download the texture file. By uploading, you agree to share your skin with the community.

How to Upload a Hytale Skin

Prepare your texture

Create or export your Hytale skin as a PNG file sized exactly 256×128 pixels and under 256 KB.

Add the skin file

Sign in to AlaHytale, then drag your PNG into the upload zone or click to browse. A live preview confirms the 256×128 size.

Describe your skin

Give the skin a name, an optional description, and up to 10 tags so other players can find it in the Hytale Skin Gallery.

Submit for review

Press Upload Skin to send it to moderation. Track its status — pending, published or rejected — on your My Skins page.
